SunnComm to sue 'Shift key' student for a possible $10m
SunnComm has threatened Princeton PhD student Alex Halderman with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) for exposing a key weakness in the company's latest CD copy protection technology, MediaMax CD3.

Shift Key new circumvention device, company threatens to file suit
SunnComm Technologies, a developer of CD antipiracy technology, said Thursday that it will likely sue a Princeton student who early this week showed how to evade the company's copy protection by pushing a computer's Shift key.

Just a day after SunnComm Technologies announced it would file DMCA lawsuit against John Halderman for revealing weaknesses in their CD copy protection scheme, they have done an about face and now will not sue.
